Q: Does a musician's body, or how they're built, have any influence on how they play, or the music they choose to perform? (Marie Michelli)

A: "I'll work on Beethoven and I'll think, 'This will never be my piece. It doesn't feel right.' Literally feel right in the hand. Mozart, that's not for my hand at all. Scarlatti - big uphill battle, not written for me but I'll try; Chopin, close. Brahms: he wrote it for me. It's a horribly obnoxious thing to say but I really do feel it has a lot to do with the way one's built, if nothing else, in the hand." (Pianist Mischa Dichter)
