Conductor Iván Fischer founded the Budapest Festival Orchestra in 1983 and has appeared with them in important concert series and festivals throughout the world. He also appears regularly as guest conductor with the Berlin Philharmonic, Concertgebouw, New York Philharmonic and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and is the former Principal Conductor with the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington DC.

There are a number of myths surrounding the enjoyment and understanding of classical music. From his position, standing on podiums around the world, conductor Ivan Fischer has a keen perspective on classical access.
