You may have heard the saying "familiarity breeds contempt." In the classical music world, conductor Paavo Järvi says familiarity can sometimes breed complacency -- especially with well-known music like Dvorak's Symphony Number 9 -- the "New World" Symphony.
Paavo Järvi conducts the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, the German Chamber Philharmonic and guest conducts in all of the major music centers. He's recorded Dvorak's "New World" Symphony with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic.
